| This was shot from the back of Haley House, believed to be the oldest building in the state of Maine. Smuttynose Island feels peaceful in winter and the old house looks so solid and stoic, awaiting the storms to come. The trees here have since blown down. I often think about how an image made in a particular time, especially in a landscape so exposed to the elements, can potentially be the last recording of what once existed. |
